Free Printable Communication Board

Being unable to speak clearly is one of the most challenging situations for someone who is sick and for the caregivers. As I cared for bone marrow transplant patients, many of them would develop temporary aphasia due to chemotherapy side effects. A communication board would often break down those barriers to communication and enable me to more fully understand their needs.

I decided to develop this communication board in the hopes of helping someone. This particular board includes letters, numbers, and words. I recommend printing and placing on a clipboard, encouraging the person to point to items on the board with his/her finger or pen.

If you have access to a color printer, the one in color may be a bit easier to use. The black and white one will work best with a black and white printer.
